FIESTA 98 - A SMASHING HILARIOUS SUCCESS!

Just ask Arlene Alcasid!

I was rolling in laughter, and so were everybody around the game that Arlene Alcasid concocted during the fiesta. Tears from laughing were in our eyes, but before we talk about that, let start from the beginning.
Possumtown Park, 11 A.M., June 20, 1998, as I was driving my car into a parking spot, I immediately noticed colorful bandritas" (those little triangular flags) swaying to the cool breeze that was blowing. Stepping out, I heard some familiar dance numbers from boom boxes.

As I walked closer to the group, I noticed the beautiful sign that say's "CALAMBA FIESTA 98" that was created by Malou and Nini Mendoza.

There was a lot of food. It was a potluck affair. Mrs. Catalina de Leon, however, brought a lechon, which was a hit.

Attendance was 100 % better than last year as definitely looks like twice the number of people attended from last year.
Some of the new fiesta attendees were Mr. Tom Lazaro, Mr. Barameda, and others I could not recall.

The park was perfect. There was a place where others played volleyball. There were places where one could barbecue. The gas for the grill was provided by the city.

eral membership was held and Lito Mendoza won as the association's president.

Everyone, family by family, table by table, introduced themselves and their family. Immediately after that, games followed spearheaded by Arlene Alcasid.

She had games for males and females, children and adult. She brought the prizes too.

The funniest of the games she concocted was the "Banana & Egg" game. It was that contestants had a banana tied to their waist. They are then to use this dangling banana to push the egg on the ground for a race. It was hilarious as hips of contestants' swing to move the eggs forward. The suggestive moves made the scene spectacular! As funny as that was, the blow by blow announcement over the microphone by Arlene gave us the belly-ache from laughing !!

All in all, I could only say, YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE! Well, see you next year! #
